One of the loveliest bits of album artwork i've ever seen. the cover of 'Écailles de Lune' ("scales of the moon"), created by Fursy Teyssier and Metastazis, combines an amazingly subtle use of beautiful colours and shading with solid line forms. I can't quite work out the narrative of the piece but it doesn't loose any of it's quality because of it.
I really can't get over the cover. Click on it to get the full size image and you will be blown away.
secondly, i think the bands logo is truly fantastic. elegant, flowing and elaborate but still crisp and tidy.
If you are just a fan of music in general, I would check out the album anyway. It can be vaguely described as Shoegaze / post-rock with a history in black metal. although the black metal element is nigh on undetectable in this latest release so don't turn your nose up at it for those of you who aren't as partial to passionate music. It takes more of the atmospheric and emotional qualities of black metal, rather than the violent guitar, vocal or drum work. It's hard to describe the music without listening to it, but I can't think of a more suitable album cover. It represents the music perfectly.
And it is genuinely calming and uplifting music. One of my favourites in recent years for sure. check out more of their amazing music here.
