Im supposed to be packing for my holiday so this'll just be quick -
I wanted to share these two books Ive bought with you. Both are fantastic in multiple ways but not least of all because of their excellent covers. As most of you know Im mad for old Soviet graphic design (Rodchenko and Lissitzky for a bit of name dropping!) and it's going to be a major feature of my up-coming dissertation - I came across these in Waterstones today and snapped them right up.
Really beautiful type on the cover of Made In Russia - Unsung Icons of Sovet Design; packed full beautiful vintage photo and eye-opening essays from multiple writers.
And just a really sweet, simple cover for this edition of Karl Marx & Friedrich Engels Communist Manifesto - a really beautiful use of red and some fantastic embossing.
