I also thought I'd share this with you. A fantastic little book I have about Japanese graphic deisgn called Commercial Design of Japan.

Because there is no text in this book (only prints of adverts and graphic design) there was no need to translate it so the UK edition still comes with the right-hand side binding of the Japanese editions! They have used a thin, grainy semi laminated paper ivory coloured paper for each page, delivering a real sense of high quality but also recognising the appeal of low budget design work it features. it still smells so strongly of ink so i'm going to look into whats causing this because its a really enjoyable quality.

Finally, it features some beautiful little inserts exhibiting, for example, a printed receipt design's feature for attaching itself. For those of you who are into Japanese visual culture outside of graphic design, this really is worth checking out.
