I was gandering through some past work the other day and came across a project we did based around Yorkshire Sculpture Park, at the time of the project the main exhibit at the park was the cut-out work of Rob Ryan. At the time I didn't give it much thought but looking back then I thought I might like to give it a go. Below is the first attempt - Rob Ryan's work largely deals with themes of love so I thought I'd flip it round and take one of the most hateful quotes I know from my favourite story, Herman Melville's "Moby Dick".
Doing this was quite fun and i'd probably like to try it out more and do it better (especially the text, i'd have to figure out a way of getting readable text without interrupting the image) but I don't want it to become like, my main "style" or whatever. Rob Ryan has got his thing going on with this and for me to base all my work on this style would just be unhealthy and rude.
